I think the main reason it's selling well is because those who didn't emulate the original and never owned a wii want to try the game for themselves and either might not know how bad SCU is, or simply grit their teeth and buy it anyway just because they want to see what the game looks like. It's also a sign that people these days are willing to accept low quality releases and they'll financially support them, not to mention people will complain about it on the internet but they'll buy it anyway (no, I did not buy Ultimate), and I don't want to see that happen to a beloved classic, let alone two of them. Not because I don't think they're as good as people say it is because Adventure 1 still stands strong for me today and Adventure 2 is my all time favourite Sonic game, but because I cannot in any way, shape or form, trust that SEGA can make good ports of their older titles as Colours Ultimate has demonstrated.Īnd to that, I say: it's a darn shame that Colours Ultimate is selling well, not because of how I think of the game itself which I think that Colours on the Wii is actually pretty decent, but because of how bad the port job is, which to me is a sign that this is the incredibly low bar of quality that SEGA is willing to strive for if it means it makes them money.
